Allice-Mae Dover is made of recycled items. Starting with a leg from an old pair of outgrown jeans, stuffed with plastic grocery bags, sleeves made of an old dresser scarf, doily collar, a refurbished doll wig, and a botched-up head, I un-did the sculpting stiches, and redid them lightly, then painted over the whole face and drew on new features. All-in-all, I’ve very happy with the results. Her earrings are part of a child’s bracelet. Only new materials used were the dolskin for her hands and poly stuffing for the upper torso and arms. She was fun to make, ‘design-as-you-go’, and I felt I liked her best without a lot of embellishment.
